| Not my teeth okay! :) |
I found out Orthobands. You can buy this stuff online for $27 but if you are saving money, you can buy it for only $4 on eBay. I am not sure if you can buy cheap orthobands in the Philippines. $4 is cheap I guess. Don't just convert it to peso.
Yes, I bought an orthoband on eBay and received it before Christmas. Here is what happened:
I put orthobands or dental bands on my teeth. After 5 hours, I noticed that the gap was getting smaller. After 10 hours, the gap was totally gone. In less than 24 hours, my gap was gone.
BUT when I forgot to wear my dental bands, the gap started to build up again. It was an ON and OFF scenario. You want the gap closed, then wear your dental bands. If not, then don't.
What is the feeling of wearing Orthobands or Dental Bands?
At first, it is kind of annoying and uncomfortable. It can hurt your gums when the bands are going on top of the root of your teeth. It can cause bleeding. Sometimes, I am waking up in the middle of the night just to remove the bands because my gums are bleeding. Now, I am still wearing my bands and it doesn't hurt anymore. It feels natural.
The Big Reveal: Home-made solution on how to fix teeth gap
I was shocked when I saw the dental bands that I bought because it looks like sanrio. My mom teased me for buying a sanrio for $4. A sanrio is a rubber that girls use to tie or braid their hairs. For short, you can simply use sanrio or hair rubber bands to close your teeth gap without going to your orthodontist.

That sucks. Amazing it is that it only takes hours to close the teeth gaps because it normally would after months or years when taken to the orthodontist.
ReplyDeleteYes, this is true AvatarLady. But only advisable if your gap is small. Wide gap needs braces and these rubber bands can't do anything about it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't use orthobands my I believe it can correct small gaps in just a little time. Based on my experience on rubbers (on braces) that makes a huge correction moving in my open bite overynight... =)
ReplyDeletehow is your gap now, is it completely closed? Did it reopen again?
ReplyDeletewhat if you have alot of gaps can they work on thoose too
ReplyDeleteThen you might be missing teeth and you can get flippers but there kinda costly
Deletecan you sleep in those rubber hair ties? also do they work the same?
ReplyDeleteThey WERE The Rubber Hair Ties.
DeleteAt first, it is really hard to sleep with rubbers on your teeth but you will get used to it anyway.
ReplyDeletewouldnt u have to wear the bands for about hmmmmmmm 2 years.because the gap will re-open.the gums must adjust to that position, taking up to 4 years of staying that same way.
ReplyDeleteAnon. That is why I stopped wearing these bands because they will just close the gap for a short period of time. It is still advisable to wear dental braces just to sure.
ReplyDeleteMy dental doctor sucks. I never know that to attach braces need an ortho doctor before.. Back then he just put the braces for 1.5 years while, I myself -who not a dental doctor nor even a doctor- believe my big tooth will need more time for stay permanent. He choose to over my braces time and it just looks good for the first 2 years, after that? My teeth back to the first place.
ReplyDeleteRetainer
Deleteso once the gap closes and u take them off it will open up? how long would u have to leave the bands in to close it permeantly
ReplyDeleteI have a gap and it ducks,I don't have a lot of money and my dentist said don't use the bands. What should I do?
ReplyDeleteI have a gap and I used small bands, within a day my gap was closed. I wore them 24 hours except to eat or clean my teeth. I left them on for a month and now my gap is gone. You just have to stick with it you can't take them off and put them back on a week later and expect your gap to be gone.
ReplyDeleteYou have to purchase a retainer after your gap has been closed in order to keep it closed.
ReplyDeleteHow do ypu put them on ??
ReplyDeleteI had just met up with a friend, whom I had not met for about two years or so, and noticed that her teeth gap has widened. Why is it so? Is it because this is part and parcel of aging process or is it because lack of certain vitamins or minerals? What can we do to prevent such symptom?
ReplyDeleteDental bands (orthofill) are different from natural rubber bands used in the hair. As far as I know, dental bands have been specifically manufactured in dental laboratories by Orthodontic professionals to provide an adaptive solution targeted only for minor gapped teeth.
ReplyDeleteThey are the small elastic bands that many dentists and orthodontics use with braces. But instead of threading them through the braces, you only need to roll a band over the gapped teeth.
:)
hmmm my gap isnt really big , sooo i think i'll try the bands
ReplyDeleteMy gap is small so what can I use to get rid of my gap cause I'm sick of seeing it what kind of rubber bands can I use please someone right back thanks

ReplyDeleteGo to Walmart and get the goody bands and use the top part on your front two teeth and then use the middle part for the right and left tooth next to the front tooth to make sure u don't get gaps there too!
