Just another New Year’s Resolution (Boooh!)

This is one of my preparations in welcoming the year 2011. Well all of us are doing this ritual I guess. New Year’s resolutions are like promises; they are made to be broken. What say you? *wink* Before reading my resolution, you might want to read my review of the year 2010. Without further adieu, here is my very own resolution for 2011! *insert drum rolls*

At Home

•  Be Patient. I am saying that I must keep it all inside because if I do, I will be insane! I will try to keep my patience longer. I did it before and I am kind of good at it.

• Give more. Since I am earning money online and I can somehow buy things using my own money, I will share it to my relatives. I did it with my mom and cousin and my next plan is to give something for my Aunt for her birthday. (She terribly wants this thing)

• Behave. Since I am the only guy in our family, my mom and aunt keep on reminding me to behave. True love waits. That is what they say. I should not search for it. Let love finds me.

In School

• Study harder. Yes, I am studying so hard. It’s not just that obvious but I really am. I need to focus more on the things I am good at. I know my weaknesses and I will try to improve them. Learn to love the things you hate the most. That phrase came from my prof and it saves me from my programming subjects. It makes sense after all.

• Stay tough. In school, there are people and consequences that can make or destroy your views in life. Criticisms are not welcome in my system.

In the Blogosphere

• Blog harder. I can juggle things at the same time. Although thesis A and B are approaching my college life maybe next term, I know I can still do blog and earn money online.

• Attend a blogging event. I have been blogging for a year but I haven’t attended a blog event or summit. But this year, I will!

• Create and Update blog. I will make another blog with its own niche, maybe about technology or movie review. I am still deciding if I will buy another domain or just leave it to blogspot. TextmatesKo is my sleeping giant. I will update it soon. Just wait for some updates texters!

• Learn more. SEO is a must for bloggers out there but there are things that are important than SEO. It is what we call LIFE. Blogging is life. Learning blogging is learning how to live better. There are different blogs out there. Different stories. Different lessons. And they are essential.

Extras (My Top 10)

1. Do a Video-log for once.
2. Have a teeth retainer or braces if I have extra bucks.
3. Apply for an EON card.
4. Write mysteriously. Avoid possessive pronouns.
5. Read good books. Buy good books!
6. Explore everything. Experiment things! (blog ‘em afterwards)
7. Speak out.
8. Meet new faces.
9. Discover new bars in the Metro! *woot!*
10. Work out. Build some muscle.

2011, I am freaking ready!

2010 was

2010 is about to end and I think I need to review the things I achieved. Yes, 2010 opened lots of doors to me. There were obstacles but in the end, here I am, still writing and ready to defy everything! Here goes my evaluation of the year 2010. *drum roll please*

At home

I maintained my good image. Yeah, I am always good and I am proud to say that me and Mom did not argue this year. Although she’s a little bit annoying sometimes. That means my patience became longer now. Family issues? Nah! They don’t exist in my family. 

Nothing Has Changed

Should I go? I haven’t seen them for a year! Maybe I should go. What if they have changed? Okay, I am going.

That was what I thought after hearing that my batch mates in high school is organizing a reunion or I must say party after Christmas. It took me hours before I came up with a decision. Yes, I attended the party.

My house is like the farthest amongst them all. They are living in the same area unlike me who needs to travel a 30 to 40 minute drive before I get there (there is no traffic). The route was still the same. The trees, grasses, houses were still located at the exact place just like the old days. Except for the new establishments like the water refilling station from nowhere. Maybe the owner doesn’t know how to take surveys or feasibility before putting up a business. *none of my business*

A New Blog Post? Whoa! Awesome! ;)

For those who don’t know yet, I am on a vacation. I posted a blog hiatus before but some of you might not notice it. I am in Zambales now to spend New Year. After the celebration, I will go straight to Baguio to meet my cousins and have a good start there.

Life here in Zambales is kind of boring. If you can’t live without cable or internet, you might be dead by now. *LoL* I am really glad that my sun broadband can access the internet now. If you are in the province and want to connect to the internet using your broadband, (Sun, SmartBro, Globe Tattoo) make sure that the supported type is WCDMA preferred so it can connect to the EDGE signal. The connection is very slow but it’s not that bad though. You can check your facebook account and do some blog-hopping.

A Night Full of Fun

Last night, December 22nd, Our college had its Christmas celebration at the Causeway Bar and Restaurant in Quezon City. The theme of the event is "wear a cartoon character tee-shirt". The theme is all about childhood. We are maturing day by day and the things that we are are achieving are countless. But childhood is the root of all this, and we want to bring back the old days. The day when we were kids.


 I wore a gray shirt that I bought in SM Manila. Elmo was printed their. Since I knew that someone might wear the same shirt like mine, I did some tweak and wore a long sleeve beneath my shirt so it's more fashionable.

Annoying Jeepney Driver

After the practice for our presentation this coming December 22, I decided to go home because I have lots of things to do especially my coursework assignment in my Discrete Mathematics subject. I rode this almost full jeepney. The driver insisted that there was a vacant sit for me but there was none. I was not in the right position and it was UNCOMFORTABLE!


I got 6 pesos inside my coin purse and gave it to the driver, then he said that I should pay 7 pesos because there are no students during these days. Take note that I was wearing my school uniform and ID so that was a good proof that there still is.

Movie Review: Frozen (2010)

A story of 3 friends, Dan, Joe, and Parker (Dan's Girlfriend) got stranded in the middle of a ski lift. The setting of this film is very minimal. It happened on a ski resort and the story flows in only one place (up in the middle of the ski lift).

I have an Online Job!

I have been earning money online since 2009 and I am proud to say that I am still discovering lots of ways for me to earn extra bucks. Without all my blogs, my paypal account won't be happy. 


Now, I am happy to say that I have an online job. I searched for it and saw an advertisement that they need a writer/editor of an article. Since I am good at proofreading an article, I decided to apply there and see if my ability will work.


I emailed the employer with my resume and she said that I need to write an article about myself. So I did what she instructed. After that, she gave 3 articles about stock market investing and she wants me to rewrite each articles.

Going out is not my favorite thing to do. I am not a party-goer and I'd rather stay at home and do some online tasks but the things I experienced last December 11, 2010 with my new friends was the bestest!

Where to buy Teeth Gap Bands in the Philippines?

I hate to say this but I am noticing a gap between my front teeth and is very alarming. Although teeth gap is the new trend in fashion today (Celebrities in some country are willing to pay their dentists just to create a gap on their teeth), That did not appeal to me okay! Teeth gap is not coll and will never be.


The gap in my teeth started to grow when I had to remove a tooth on a lower portion of my gum. Because of that, it created a huge blank space on my lower gum. I guess, that triggers my teeth to move. As a result, a teeth gap in my front teeth. 

$25.96 Payment from Adgitize + Hiatus

Adgitize has been my favorite advertising network every now and then because aside from giving me a fair amount of traffic to my blogs, it also gives me additional income and it makes my paypal account so happy. I have been in the network for like 4 months now and currently advertising 2 blogs.


Yesterday, I received my payment for the month of November worth $25.98 which means I got back the money that I spent for one month advertisement of my two blogs. See the proof below:

Waiting for my parcels

I felt so generous for the month of November and decided to spend some of my money on paypal account. I bought accessories for my Nokia 5800 and also protective screen. After that, my mom saw this dress on ebay and she did like it. Since I won $20 at that day, I decided to buy that dress as a surprise gift for her.


Last week I guess, I bought 2 beanie hats for me and my cousin and I am expecting it to arrive before Saturday because I need to wear it on our party this coming Saturday.

New Profile in Facebook Features

As I open my Facebook account, I noticed the notifications abut my friends having their new profile. I thought that they just updated some details regarding their profiles but I was wrong. I guess Facebook is testing another move to have something new this coming yuletide season. I haven't updated my profile yet (thinking that it is still on beta ;])

I tried to view my friend's profile who got his new profile and I saw the difference. The fonts were larger and the photos that has been tagged to you will be placed on top of your profile, beneath the search box. The right and left-sidebar became a little bit larger. This is the second time Facebook changed something on the network and expect more changes in the future. 

I am hoping that they won't allow the application of themes or facebook layouts just like on facebook because that would be a big mess! In my opinion, facebook is better when it is plain simple.

DeejSpeaks's new layout and header

Last week, I took time to search templates for my blogs and I really had a hard time searching one. I mean there are lots of awesome templates for bloggers out there and I can't hardly choose what is the best one for me.


Luckily, I found one for my Entertainment blog and it is perfect. I applied a 2-column, minimalistic look and have a right-sidebar on it. I think it fitted well with my widgets and link lists.


While browsing random topics on the internet, I found the perfect blog template for this blog. After a year in blogging, I just found out that I am more on minimal themes like this one. White background with black-sidebar and a personalized header. I made the header using my photoshop CS4 and put my own photo as a final touch.


About the Header


The header is based on the header of wikipedia where the founder's photo background was the same. I just edited it on photoshop so the people at my back are totally random.

We are the Champs: Debate Contest

This is just a recap of what happened on our school's first OrgFest. Day 1 was okay. I didn't do much except for selling movie tickets at the lobby. The good thing was the time I sat there, no one dared to buy their tickets maybe because the movie have already started and they don't want to catch up. Maybe I sold 9 tickets. Guess what, I watched movies for free because of what I did. :)

Break a Leg Debaters!

Tomorrow, as a part of our school's OrgFest, we will be having a Debate and I am one of the participants. There will be 4 teams that will battle each other including my blogger friend, Nash Micaell.


But after that, I am gonna assist the Scrabble Game which will be held after the mass (probably around 11AM). I am very confident that I can manage this game because my players are disciplined. My problem would be the people that will watch each games and compute the scores. I think I will just snatch a friend tomorrow.
